BENEFITING: Sunrise Day Camps Association Inc
Team Let Kids Tri is racing for Sunrise Day Camp - Long Island at the MightyMan Montauk on October 2, 2016 - to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings.
Sunrise Day Camp - Long Island is the world’s first full-summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings, provided completely free of charge. Providing memorable summers since 2006 for children ages 3 1/2–16, Sunrise Day Camps bring the simple pleasures of childhood back to children struggling with cancer, changing months of loneliness and isolation into summers filled with sunshine, laughter and happiness. And because Sunrise is a day camp, it does all this while allowing the children to continue their medical treatment and enjoy the comfort and safety of their own homes at night.
Triathlete and Coach Nick Castellano founded team Let Kids Tri to make a difference in the lives of children and their families. Since 2014, the team has raised over $30,000 for worthwhile programs that help Long Island’s children overcome obstacles such as serious illness, special needs and poverty. Let Kids Tri is proud to support Sunrise Day Camp for the second consecutive year.
