As a native New Yorker and an avid runner, the NYC Marathon is at the top of my bucket list. But more importantly, as a LMR Board member, I am super excited to run the race this November on behalf of Let Me Run.
In today’s society, boys are often expected to act and be a certain way, which can prevent them from truly being themselves, connecting with others and expressing their emotions. Using running as the vehicle to inspire, teach and reach boys, Let Me Run’s comprehensive curriculum breaks down destructive male stereotypes that often stand in the way of positive futures for boys.
At some point in every marathon, I question my sanity and ask myself why am I putting myself through this misery. I’m sure I’ll have the same feeling around mile 18 on November 5th, but I already know the answer. It’s because I really believe in Let Me Run’s mission to inspire boys to be themselves, to be active, and belong.
Please consider donating to my page and help me meet my goal of raising $4000 for Let Me Run. Thanks in advance and be sure to check out the pictures and videos I’ll post as I prepare for the NYC Marathon!
