BENEFITING: UNICEF USA
As a member of the UNICEF NextGeneration Chicago Steering Committee, I'm aiming to raise $2,900 by my 29th birthday which is just over 2 weeks away. Any amount helps! If 100 people giving $29 is all I need! In the US, we take school for granted. We complain about homework and figure out crafty ways to ditch class but around the world children are denied this basic right because of challenges with access, lack of educational standards and ingrained inequities. Being the nerd that I am, I've always loved school. I'm way too curious, ask too many questions and can never stop learning. So, for my 29th birthday it's only appropriate that our current NextGen project is to raise funds for Let Us Learn, an initiative that aims to educate the hardest to reach kids. Your support can help UNICEF with initiatives like: • Development and distribution of pedagogical materials in Madagascar for three regions. • Monitoring and evaluation of the project to ensure programming is evidence based. • Implementation of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Education programming in Nepal’s schools. • Facilitation of a school assessment and re-opening project in Liberia as part of Ebola recovery efforts. • Provision of school kits, floor mats, libraries, blackboards and textbooks for a school year in Afghanistan.
