You did it! We reached our goal for Melanie to go to Power of Hope Camp!
May 09, 2016
Melanie is one of those people that can truly light up a room. Melanie is graduating from high school this year, and hopes to have one last experience as a camper at a camp she recently learned about called The Power of Hope. Let's all pitch in and send this inspiring, fantastic young woman to camp!
In Melanie's words: "I love the outdoors and love to unplug from the social norms. There's nothing like a carefree, non- judgmental atmosphere to boost the moral. The last few years I have been a counselor for numerous camps so I am excited to be on the other end of the spectrum and be a camper again. Power of Hope is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am so privileged to have "fell into" this opportunity and thank you in advance for all of your generations donations."
I first met Melanie when she was a camper at a camp I work at called Camp Lead in Siskiyou County, California. Over the years she returned as a camp counselor , and I have had the honor of witnessing her grow into an incredible young woman who is a caring and dedicated role model to so many young people. When I ask her what she's up to, she smiles and humbly lists all of the volunteer activities she is involved in with her church, school, and community. She is truly amazing.

Camp tuition is $695, and we are budgeting $150 to help cover travel expenses from Yreka, CA to Whidbey Island, WA.
