THE STORY:

After watching a segment on 60 Minutes, I was shocked to hear that in just 20 years, we may no longer see any lions in the wild. As an animal and travel lover I want to go to Africa and see these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. I also hope that my kids and grand kids will be able to do the same.

I'm hoping to raise $250 and adopt a cat in our honour. By raising $250 we will be supporting wild cats and Panthera’s conservation programs in one of the following ways:

Provides food and other supplies for a patrol team in tiger habitat
Supports the salary of a well-trained 'community scout' in Africa to help track lions, reinforce bomas (corrals made out of brush to help protect livestock from lions), and protect lions from being hunted.
Provides materials for a community-based educational seminar on ways to mitigate conflicts between ranchers and jaguars in Latin America.
Deploys one

Give your loved ones a gift they will remember for years to come. Adopt a wild cat in honor of a family member or friend and help conserve some of the world’s largest and most imperiled wild cats.

How it helps

A minimum $250 gift will support wild cats and Panthera’s conservation programs in one of the following ways:

Deploys one camera trap to survey snow leopards in Mongolia (up to 150 traps used at snow leopard study sites).
Provides field supplies for scientists to monitor the activities of leopards, including fuel for patrol vehicles, binoculars, flashlights, waterproof boots and more.
