BENEFITING: JUNIOR LEAGUE OF HARTFORD INCORPORATED
The Junior League of Hartford is an organization of women committed to ways of improving communities through education and volunteerism. Currently, one of their biggest initiatives is to aid the over 100,000 people who are hungry in the Greater Hartford area, a large portion of which are children. Through their Adopt-a-backpack and Freshplace programs, they provide healthy food to the community. A child that gets the nourishment he or she needs is more likely to pay attention in school and lead a healthy life as opposed to a child who is suffering from chronic hunger who is more likely to get caught up in many of the social problems that exist in our cities such as teenage pregnancies, drugs and alcohol, health problems, dropping out of school, and even suicide. It is a major problem and we have the opportunity to do something about it. For the next six months I will keep this website open for donations. Please open your hearts and be generous. You will be making a critical difference in a child's life. God bless you.
