On Monday, April 27th, protests related to the tragic death of Freddie Gray erupted in Baltimore, Maryland, ending in some destruction and looting of cars, buildings, and businesses. One of these businesses was the Hae-Tteuneun Market at 1701 Baker Street, which was engulfed in flames. Unfortunately the insurance for the store had lapsed when this destruction occurred.
The owner of this market is Grace Lyo, or Ms. Grace as neighborhood residents call her. Her store has been open for the past 15 years, and she has come to know many of her neighbors well, posting pictures of their children on the wall of the market and learning about their lives as they drop by to shop. She is devoted to her customers.
And this is where you come in. Ms. Grace loves her neighbors. She loves her neighborhood. And we would love to give her a chance to rebuild and continue to be a positive part of this community. Please consider making a donation to help defray the costs of recovering and rebuilding the Hae-Tteuneun Market. Let's start rebuilding Baltimore with Grace.
All donations will be given to Grace Lyo. Thank you.
