BENEFITING: Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
This summer, I volunteered at Sunrise Day Camp on Long Island; a day camp that provides a place for children with cancer and their siblings to feel like normal kids again—for free! This was the most incredible experience of my entire life. The smiles and laughter I saw on the campers faces on a daily bases was life changing. Seeing children who have seen the darkest side of life, happy, is incredible. While watching a group of children dance to a new popular song called “Watch Me,” sung by Silento, I got the idea that I can create a campaign to help spread awareness and raise money for pediatric cancer research.
