Leukemia patient (21 years old) tuition and Medical Expenses
Organized by: Fiend Anonymous
Hey There, I chose this to be anonymous because I know that the patient would like to have some privacy. Believe it or not, this story is what you would encounter in a movie. The whole family has been struggling for about 5 years with financial problems after the dad losing his job. This young man that I know very closely was going on an exchange for a semester in Europe. Prior to leaving, he started getting purple and red patches on his skin, swollen tonsils, purple lips. He lost his appetite and could not get up. He went to 3 different doctors who suspected mononucleosis and the 4th doctor ran a blood test. He was on the airplane when the doctor called him, asked him to get off the plane and head to the hospital. He had Leukemia. This was in September 2015. Now, while going through chemo treatments and feeling a bit better, he wants to go back to school but OSAP won't provide funding, mom is stay at home, dad got layed off a month ago. Mortgage payments are racking up, house bills and such. The family of 7 has no source of income. He has some money saved from his trip but he needs about $950 to cover the rest of his tuition. He is looking for a part time job but doctors don't recommend him to work in his condition when he's very prone to infections from chemo. I appreciate the post remaining private due to the sensitivity of the situation. If you would like proof or have any questions please message me privately. I know there are many causes out there but this family has been through terrible years. Let's help him and his family a bit.
