Hello Supporters! I want to…
Hello Supporters!

I want to thank all of you for your generous support! Here's what's been happening with my fundraising and training lately.

Fundraising and Events Updates:
We're down to the 20 day mark and I've raised $4,832 which is 97% of my fundraising goal! Only $168 to go!!!!

On October 1st TEAM NYJL hosted a Happy Hour at Public House and raised $790. Though the rain scared a few people away, it was a great night and everyone who attended had fun celebrating our training and fundraising efforts!

On October 8th TEAM NYJL hosted another Happy Hour at the New York Junior League Astor House. The event was designed to not only raise money for our team, but to create and decorate signs for all of the runners on our team. It was a fun night for the runners to mix and mingle with our supporters! At this event our team raised $280.

Training Update:
I'm still feeling great and I am confident I will be healthy and ready on Marathon Sunday. I've not only run two 16 milers and the NYRR 18 mile tune up race; I also completed Grete's Great Gallop half marathon on October 4th and added on mileage to run a total of 18 miles. I felt strong the entire time and achieved my marathon goal pace! After the race many of NYJL team members met for a delicious brunch to celebrate how far we've come in our training.
To continue my running hot streak, I completed the three bridges 20 miler with the New York Flyers on Saturday, October 10th. The three bridges run was a wonderful experience because we ran part of the marathon course. It's so exciting to think that in less than one month I will join thousands of people in the same goal – crossing the finish line of the New York City Marathon!

Thank you so much for your support!

Dear NYJL Supporter,

We've just passed the 50 day mark to the New York City Marathon! My team and I are getting very excited and cannot wait to lace up our running shoes on marathon Sunday.
My training has been going very well and I'm happy to report I have no injuries! I did take off two weeks from running for my wedding (it was the best day ever!) in Oregon, but I'm back to my training this week! I'm running an 18 miler on Sunday! This will be the longest run in my training so far.
My fundraising has been going well, however, for the first time I did not meet my September 1st goal of $3,500. To date I've raised $3,420 – so I just missed it!
Thank you for supporting me and Team NYJL! I wouldn't be where I am today without you.

If you live in the New York area there are two opportunities coming up to again support our team.

Dear Team NYJL Supporter,

I wanted to write a quick note updating you on my marathon training and fundraising.
We've just passed the 100 day mark until the New York City Marathon! When milestone days like this pass by I get so excited for Marathon Sunday and crossing the finish line.

As each day passes I am also overwhelmed by the generosity so many people have shown by donating to this amazing organization - The New York Junior League. I've trained for, and run three marathon before, but I've never had a fundraising goal of $5,000 before! You have have helped me feel confident not only in my fundraising, but in my training. I know I have a huge support base that will carry me through the last miles of the race.

Week four of training has just come and gone and I'm feeling strong. This past Saturday I was a pace leader with my running club the New York Flyers and I paced the 9 minute group. These group training runs are one of my favorite parts of marathon training. You meet new people, hear their stories and get a great workout in.

Now, on to week five! In week five I'll run a total of 34 miles, along with competing in the NYRR Team Championships Race on Saturday! Go NY Flyers! :)

I'll be sure to send out another e-mail update when we're down to 50 days until the marathon!

Thank you again for you support!
