Our organization: Founded in 1979, Los Gatos Rowing Club (LGRC) has trained and coached more than 2500 student athletes from 25 area schools on the beautiful Lexington Reservoir near Los Gatos, CA. Our junior rowers have succeeded in winning numerous national titles and, each year, many are recruited to row at the top colleges and universities across the nation. Why We're Raising Money: Each year club members fundraise to retire obsolete equipment. Proper equipment, including shells (boats), oars, and cox boxes (on-board PA system that enables the coxswain to communicate with rowers on the water), is key to competing at this elite level. LGRC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization; therefore, your donation is tax deductible. Why Should You Give: Crew builds character through perseverance, discipline and team work. That character creates future community and business leaders. LGRC strives to keep program costs low to ensure that all who wish to participate, can do so. Thus, Program Fees cover coaching and regatta costs while proceeds from fundraising go to equipment acquisition. Only with your generous support can we continue to develop young Bay Area athletes into future leaders.
