BENEFITING: L.I. Against Domestic Violence
Making A Difference
“I just did a reassessment for a client who was recently discharged from the shelter. Not only is she safe, but she is stronger (both physically and mentally) and thriving. She had so many wonderful things to say about our agency and about the shelter staff. She thanked me a dozen times for “doing what we do” and for changing her life. Despite the trauma and abuse she endured, she was so positive in saying, “everything happens for a reason”; and all of the negative things she went through led her through our doors and to her future, which is looking brighter and brighter by the day. Not only does she have a place of her own to call home, she is working with an elderly woman as a companion and absolutely loves it. She is saving her money and plans on eventually moving to be with her son, who just graduated from the Naval Academy.”
“Given our line of work, we hear stories of pain and suffering on a daily basis… so it’s extremely refreshing when I hear how well a former client is doing. I hope this makes you as happy as it made me and is a reminder to keep doing what you’re doing… Changing lives one client at a time.”
