Last Mile Health (also known in Liberia as Tiyatien Health) is a nonprofit working to provide health care in rural areas. They train health workers in Liberia and provide the medical equipment and salary that these workers need to treat patients effectively. Health workers receive training to address the top health issues of rural Liberians.
LMH works with Partners in Health to empower Liberian health workers to provide the best care they can locally. Many Liberians live far away from hospitals, but LMH trains locals to bring health care directly to these people.
Currently the health care workers have been trained and equipped to recognize the signs of Ebola and isolate and treat these patients. Their education efforts are helping to stop the spread of the virus. Please donate to help these local health care workers end the outbreak and to help develop the future leaders of Liberian health care. Strengthening local health care systems is the best way to prevent a crisis like this from happening again. Thank you for your support of Liberia during this difficult time.
