Liberty's Queer Canadian Adventure
Organized by: Liberty Justice
EVENT DATE Aug 15, 2015
I'm typically not the type of person to ask for help, but there's nothing in this world more important to me than my girlfriend, Angie. I live in Ohio and she lives all the way in British Columbia (that's in Canada, if you were unaware). That's a little over 2,250 miles separating us at all times. We've met once when she surprised me at my high school graduation (the best moment of my life), so i'm not going to pretend like I'm trying to see her for the first time. But we only had a week, one short, but amazing week together. I showed her around my home and the town I live in, and now I want to see her home. I have a job (I'm a receptionist at a music school) but they've recently drastically cut my hours because they believe that I am incapable of dealing with more because I'm prone to panic attacks and have severe anxiety disorder. The money I am making goes to helping with my doctor bills, my little sister who currently has no job, and daily life expenses. My grandmother was originally going to purchase my plane ticket for me, but recently, my aunt, who lived with my grandma full time, had to be put in an expensive assisted living facility because of her bipolar disorder, OCD, and PTSD. I have been saving every cent that I can, but it's just not enough. There's no way I'll be able to afford the plane ticket and the expenses of staying there. Like I said, I'm really not one to ask for help, but this is a big deal to me, even if it may seem petty and inconsequential to some. I'm trying to move to Canada both to be closer to Angie and to get out of Ohio, which is a pretty narrow-minded state. My mother's condition to allow me to move away is that I visit first before I can even consider moving. So, I have to get there so I can start my life with the girl I love. I leave the 7th of August and will be there through the 18th and have to sustain myself while I'm there. Thank you for reading this, even if you can't donate, thanks for taking the time to check it out!
