BENEFITING: CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION (inactive)
This year has, among many other things, been a training for leaps and bounds. I've been able to guide my girlfriend Tara in her journey of learning to swim for the half Ironman. I've had the privilege of watching her go from her best doggy paddle to looking like a real swimmer in the water! She has done the 1.2 mile swim many times now, has now done a 75 mile ride, a handful of half marathons, and a few sprint triathlons. Additionally, my uncle Allan Freeman, in his early sixties is doing the half Ironman. He and I did many long rides together, including my first 100 mile ride when my endurance journey started a mere 6 years ago. My discipline does not hold a candle to his. Last but not least, the Ironman veterans Nick Buchman and Scott Shell (Tara's brother in law and cousin, respectively), who are also both super disciplined, will be some fierce competition. As I've done the majority of the last six years, I'm humbly asking for donations in memory of Cora Hill for Cystic Fibrosis. Her cause is the biggest reason I can call myself an Ironman. I am eternally grateful for that and any donation you are able to provide. Thank you.
