Lifesaver 70.3 Ohio
Organized by: Sean Costello
In preparation for the inaugural Ironman Ohio 70.3 race, the Central Ohio Triathlon Team, in cooperation with local triathlon coaches, organizations, and athletes, would like to promote good will, enhance cyclist-motorist relations, and foster a greater sense of community with the residents of Delaware, Ohio, who may be impacted by the race and who are likely to encounter more cyclists on the roads where they live than they may accustomed to seeing. Ultimately, we hope this program will make the roads safer for cyclists To that end, we will distribute postcards featuring stories of triathletes participating in the race, along with Lifesaver candies (hence the title). This will both promote good will and humanize the cyclists whom Delaware, Ohio residents may encounter in the weeks leading up to the race, which ultimately will help improve the safety of cyclists before, during, and after the race, and help ensure that this race becomes a fixture of Ohio for years to come.
