The LifeTides Institute strives to teach children about their their own natural surroundings so that they can come to really know them. And once they truly know about these currently unspoiled natural areas— and their own personal relationship to them—then this provides a foundation for stronger caring and stewardship for their future. Learning outdoors also supports team-building, understanding relationships between people and their surroundings, and fosters stronger interpersonal and coping skills. LifeTides is especially concerned with young people who are disadvantaged in the rural areas of South Carolina's LowCountry. We strive to support increased opportunities for learning and growing so that this area's youth can dream big about their roles and place in their communities and for the future.
