EVENT DATE: Dec 31, 2013
Here’s how it works.
Give a girl access to health care and education, and she can avoid HIV, marry later, and have children who are as healthy as she is. Imagine the positive economic and social effects when this happens generation after generation.
It’s already happening.
Lifunga Secondary School educates at-risk girls. Previously, these young women had been orphaned, abandoned, abused, and none had ever gone to university. But after a successful pilot program last year, their health, welfare, and grades are improving -- and 10 girls passed the university entrance exam for the first time in the school’s history!
With your help, we are going to bring these results to more girls in need: Tiba is now expanding the program to include two new schools in rural Kenya.
What your $100 can do.
Tiba’s health insurance program for at-risk girls provides health insurance, health education, and regular health screenings, as well as shoes, school uniforms, sanitary pads, clean water, and nutritional support - all for about $100 per girl per year!
