Pancreatic Cancer is the fourth largest killer of all cancer killers and the least funded of the top ten cancers. It is also the only cancer in the top ten killer with a single digit survival rate after 5 years. To help raise money and awareness, Project Purple will have a team at the 5k Holiday Run in Lincoln, Nebraska on December 7, 2014 (sponsored by the Lincoln Track Club and held at Pioneers Park at 10am on Sunday, 12/7/14). Walkers, joggers, and runners are welcome!
Where do the funds go? Project Purple offers a Scholarship Program providing grants to children and grandchildren who have lost a loved one to pancreatic cancer to continue their education. Second they have a Patient Financial Aid Program that helps families pay the daily bills like mortgage, rent, and utilities due to a financial hardship caused by pancreatic cancer. Lastly they fund research towards discovering early detection and finding a cure for pancreatic cancer.
Join in our fight by donating to Project Purple and help us find a cure for pancreatic cancer! We need to do more - we have lost one too many friends, family members and loved ones to this evil cancer.
