Ready ...Set... GO PHAR
July 08, 2016
Hi i have IPAH and was diagnosed in 2008. I was then given 2-5 years to live. I was recently elected to be the PHAR patient representative for this new registry and would be delighted if you helped me set an example for others to follow! Help me join the fight against PH!
Are you ready to accelerate pulmonary hypertension research?
At the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA), we’re putting our heart into a cure – and we know that cure will come from research. That’s why so many in the PHA community have joined Go PHAR Research, a virtual walk to benefit the new Pulmonary Hypertension Association Registry (PHAR) and the continued rollout of PHAR into the Centers of Comprehensive Care accredited Pulmonary Hypertension Care Centers initiative.
PHAR is the key to helping answer research questions with real world data to advance care and quality of life for people living with PH. The program differs from past registries that were privately funded and only addressed specific questions. PHAR, with contributions from the PH community and information from PHCC accredited centers, will track diagnostic and treatment patterns at a national level, ultimately demonstrating quality improvement for the care of PH patients at these institutions.
The Go PHAR Research initiative was just launched at PHA’s 2016 International PH Conference and Scientific Sessions and the response has been incredible. More than 230 people have already joined, pledging more than $25,000 in support. The Go PHAR Research community tasked with testing this incredible program has already taken an astounding 872,273 steps towards a cure for PH.
