Lindblom Families, Alumni & Supporters,
As you all know, Lindblom is an amazing school with a long history of excellence. Lindblom is one of the top high schools in the state of Illinois. In the past two years, our seniors have earned 8% of the college scholars in Chicago Public Schools. Our seniors have among the highest college persistence of any school in the state. Our students are prepared for and succeed in college because of the quality education they receive at Lindblom.
Lindblom’s ability to continue providing a high quality education is at risk. I am expecting to receive budget cuts from CPS any day now. Those budget cuts could be up to 10% of Lindblom’s budget. Those budget cuts will directly impact the education of Lindblom students. Students will face class sizes of 35+ as a result of at least 10 teachers being laid off. Students will have their class choices reduced as many electives and AP classes will no longer being offered. Students will feel these impacts on February 8th when 2nd semester begins.
To prevent these draconian cuts from taking place, the students need you. The students need you to raise money to offset the potential budgets cuts facing Lindblom. The students need Lindblom’s families, alumni, and supporters to raise $1,000,000. These funds must be raised before January 2016 to prevent cuts from going into effect.
Thank you, Wayne J. Bevis, Principal & Lindblom Students & Teachers
