The Lindsay Ann Burke Memorial Fund is a non-profit corporation founded to honor the life of Lindsay Ann Burke, a 23 year old Rhode Island College graduate from North Kingstown, R.I. Lindsay was a compassionate, honest and trusting young woman who cared deeply for others. She was trying to break the cycle of violence when she was murdered. I did not know Lindsay, but feel compelled to share her story- a story that is all too common. It can happen to anyone, and one of the most important things we can do for our teens is teach them what healthy relationships look like and break the silence by working towards ending relationship violence through education. The LABMF works tirelessly to support the prevention of relationship violence primarily through the education of teens, parents, educators, and the public through workshops & on-site training throughout the state of Rhode Island. I am a runner. I run for so many reasons....I run for fun. I run for health. I run to help me think. I run because I love the feeling of exhaustion when I know I have run as hard as I could. I run because I am blessed that I can, and I run for those who wish they could. On November 5, 2017, I will run the TCSNYC Marathon not only for these reasons....I will run for Lindsay Ann Burke and everything the LABMF represents. Please join me in supporting this amazing organization and help end the cycle of relationship violence. Thank you for your support!
