Lines for Millikan
Organized by: Sarah & Katie !
Hi we are Katie Walsh and Sarah Brotman, from the Millikan Middle School Civics Academy. Each year in the Civics Acadamy we are assigned an activism project, and this year as our activism we plan to re-paint the lines on the handball courts at Millikan. The lines at Millikan are faded and are not clearly visible so we believe that re-painting the lines would help out our school. We are both currently in the Physical Education program at Millikan so, we are in the handball courts everyday. We have expirenced first hand the effect of the faded lines. You may think "It's just a bunch of cemetrical lines on the floor, how is that going to effect anything" but, those lines contribute to many competitive friends fights during P.E. We have watched many friends argue weather a ball was in or, if it was out. A lot of precious P.E playing time has been wasted during these arguments. If we re-paint the lines, not only will it save time, but it will save friendships! We will need donations to buy painting supplies such as, brushes, exterior paint, tape, etc. We would be so thankful for any donations made. Every penny donated means the world to us!
