Project Linus is a non-profit organization with a two-fold mission.
First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”
Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.
There are "blanketeers" who are constantly working on blankets for this project. At times, there are blanket-making parties which allow people to gather and work for a common interest (providing warmth, love and a way for these children to feel like they have been thought about, loved and adored.) I will provide details for Blanket Making Parties as I am informed.
In the interim, please make blankets in your spare time. Blanketeers of all ages are encouraged to get involved. Please keep the blankets in a "no smoke" zone since many of these blankets are going to hospitals and to children who require sanitary conditions.
Please visit www.projectlinus.org for blanket patterns and other information on this great Project.
Let me know once you have a blanket to donate, please contact me through this site. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP BUT DO NOT HAVE THE TIME OR SKILLS TO MAKE A BLANKET, please contact me regarding monetary donations.
Thank you all for your interest.
