Hello, my name is Neree. I joined the Lions Athletic Club several months ago because running and playing sports makes me feel fit and relaxes my mind. But there are only three of us young ladies on the running team.
I had an idea to start a running club especially for young girls – to give them positive role models and help them avoid violence. My teammates and I will run with me on June 20, at the World Refugee Day 5k in support of the idea of a running club for girls. I hope you’ll support our efforts.
To make a team, we need to be able to get running shoes for the athletes. We also want it to be possible for the best runners from the girls’ club to travel to Uganda’s capital Kampala and take part in a competition there.
