JOIN US FOR THE 2nd ANNUAL 5K RUN/WALK FOR LITERACY-
For 2012, the Literacy Alliance of Metropolitan Atlanta (LAMA) is reaching out to the entire community in an effort to raise awareness and money for charity. This year we're making it easier than ever to let all of our participants, volunteers and supporters get involved.
The LAMA has partnered with CrowdRise to encourage all everyone to unite and fundraise for their favorite charities in 2012. Just imagine the impact the entire community can have when harnessed to give back in a fun and compelling way!
Literacy Alliance of Metropolitan Atlanta (LAMA) is a practical and innovative coalition that seeks to achieve 100% literacy among metro Atlanta's adults and families. The coalition hopes to increase public awareness about low-literacy as it is one of the root causes of poverty, un- and under-employment, homelessness, and poor health outcomes. We also provide a gateway to our member organizations as they focus to expand literacy programming in the Metropolitan Atlanta Area.
Starting at the Decatur Square, LAMA will promote awareness of the nearly 900,000 adults in the metro area’s population with low literacy skills through a family friendly event in downtown Decatur, Georgia. We invite you to join us in our efforts!
Start fundraising today by Creating Your Own Team or Joining an Exisiting Team!
