Little House in the Steel City
Organized by: Melanie Lippert
Tiny houses have become a very popular choices for alternative living situations. These cozy abodes are not just a passing fad. Tiny homes are great for people unable to afford a standard home but don't want to rent long term, want to save on utilities while minimizing carbon foot prints, or just want to simplify their life to enjoy it more. While I enjoyed the concept of these homes, I never though of it as applicable for my own life. Until now... The combination of student loans, low pay in nonprofit work (though rich in other rewards!), and rising utility costs made moving into a tiny home a tangible option.
Though a more financially obtainable goal then a standard house or the black hole of renting, a tiny house still costs money. Even with working, saving, and salvaging, my funds come up short. This is where you come in!
Any donation will help my project become a reality and no donation goes unrewarded. Every donation will get a choice of a unique piece of artwork from me. You can request a sketch of your favorite movie character or a portrait of your pet. Check out my online portfolio, Melanie Loves To Draw. Write your request in the comments when you make your donation.
And you can keep up to date on my tiny house journey at Little House in the Steel City.
