Clean air, water, food and shelter is needed by all people. The ability to sustain oneself through stewardship of the earth's raw, renewable resources should be common heritage. Daily we hear about the needs of the displaced refugees, homeless, vets, retirees, handicapped, trafficked, orphaned and widowed. We often are left frustrated and confused on how to practically help. Preventable disease is rapidly spreading which is directly related to scarcity of good food and the lack of access to much needed goods and services.
The current socioeconomic crisis in this nation is totally unacceptable. The solution will not come by big government bailout, priest, politician or greedy corporations. The solution will come little by little fueled by simple personal stewardship responsibility on small acreage farmsteads.
The Littlelot Project is a practical blueprint to meet the holistic needs of people on little homesteads (1/8-2 acre parcels). The goal is to first complete a 1 person prototype model on roughly 1/8 of an acre. After the prototype has been built it then will go through rigorous testing to prove it can meet the needs of 1 person. The prototype then can be perfected and rapidly reproduced.
The goal is to launch Littlelot villages all over the nation & nations by never leaving our own backyard. I hope to encourage others by our model and curriculum. All build information will be made readily available as open source knowledge. All supporters can take what they like and leave what they don't. This project has been a self-funded experiment, not perfect or a final product. I hope to encourage others to adapt components of the standardized Littlelot blueprint that would best benefit their little homesteads and homestead village builds.
