Ok... so, yes...SpeakeasyDC (formerly Washington Storytellers Theatre) is where I work and fundraising is part of my job. But... in all honesty, I am grateful and humbled every day by the talent, inspiration, friendships, creativity, and compassion that I have seen come out of the SpeakeasyDC experiment. This doesn't exist everywhere. You can't find storytelling like this or a community like this in every town. It's not something to take for granted. It's not something that just landed in our laps overnight. It's something special and profound that we have built from the ground up, one story at a time. If you've ever been to one of our shows or told a story or gone through the class or been through coaching with our amazing story coaches, you know what I'm talking about. I know for a fact -- because they tell me -- that people's lives have been changed and enriched by SpeakeasyDC. I hope you'll help me keep this alive and thriving.
