Living Cross Ministries Is founded by Helen and Eric Tower. We are American citizens who first visited a home in Malawi in 2013 on a mission trip with our church. We went to spread God's love for them. The home we visited housed over 10 children at that time. In that area and surrounding areas we saw poverty and hunger daily. Conditions were unsanitary and the people had little ability to treat common illnesses such as malaria which runs rampant in Malawi. We were overwhelmed by the need and the lack of local resources. Eric and I returned to the United States and began to form a plan to provide a church comprehensive and long lasting assistance for the families in Malawi. Eric and I began to enlist the help of family, friends and church members and began to raise money to send to Malawi for church supplies, food and medical help. In our hearts we knew that we needed to plan for more help if we were to make a difference and broadened our outreach efforts. We did this through social media and with a core group of family, friends and church members. We began the process of forming Living Cross Ministries Inc. and a plan formed to build a church and a family life Center along with supplying food to the hungry, medicine for the sick and a vast amount of church materials. Since their visit the area has been devastated by floods destroying structures, crops and food supplies. The area of Nsanji is in famine condition currently. While on this mission Pastor Curt Faison and Pastor Tom Wallace ordained Hannock Hannock and Charles Kapalamula into the Southern Baptist Ministry. They taught them the Southern Baptist doctrine course. We are currently Living Word Baptist Church of Living Cross Ministries. Along with friends and family we currently are supporting Pastors Hannock, Charles and their families. And we are sending money for food and medical funds to help the members of the church. Living Cross Ministries Inc. currently has no church building and all services are outdoors in the elements or in a school room. We pray God's Will be done!
