The overall fundraiser is to Support Warner Robins Houses For Veterans. This is the first of many planned transitional housing for veterans of Living the Light Ministries, Inc. The project is twofold, initially the renovation of the facility – house and swimming pool - for use as transitional shelter by 6 veterans and secondly the operational (day-to-day) support system for the veterans housed in the facility. Funds now will all be used in the renovation work, i.e.: painting, building, electrical, pool reconstruction, plumbing, etc, etc.…
The goal is to provide high quality short-term care, empowering programs, and vital
community links to veterans as veterans re-enter society. The first home will be completed to house six veterans and provide programs and services to a hundred veterans in 2013...offering sheltered space for 20 veterans within three years.
The nature of our services is to provide affordable, temporary living, and rehabilitaton and recreation programs, transportation services, and career counseling to US veterans. We will give them a warm bed to sleep and a place to prepare their meals or have them prepared for them. We will help them maintain a lifestyle that will give them dignity and pride. Provide structure and stability that empowers their health and well-being. The services will include career counseling services, electronic job banks/computer access, financial aid information, transportation; tracking database for disabled and homeless veterans; and employment opportunities.
