The impact of the record rains in Central Texas that occurred over Halloween weekend is being felt by many families - including Liz & Steve Rush. During the flood, their property was covered with several feet of water, river mud and silt. While the inside of their home survived the worst impact, their damages and losses include a truck, a car, a camper, motorcycles, tools, outbuildings, fences, landscaping, home subflooring/prep/skirt, a home AC unit, and much more. The area they live has been declared a disaster area. Liz & Steve did not have federal flood insurance. Property-type insurance (auto, etc.) and FEMA loan assistance may help recover some of the losses, but there is no doubt that Liz & Steve face many months of recovery and financial stress.
