BENEFITING: KYLE PEASE FOUNDATION INC
EVENT DATE: Oct 22, 2017
DAYS TO GO: 68
On October 22, 2017, Lizzie and I will be competing in the Marine Corps Marathon. We are excited to be representing the Kyle Pease Foundation (KPF) and The Ability Experience! This race is very important to both of us. This will be both of our very FIRST (stand-alone) marathons. Lizzie and her family have a very special connection to the Marine Corps and having just turned 16, Lizzie is excited to race her first marathon. Her mother said, "This race is very important to us as my husband was an 100% disabled Marine Vietnam vet. We lost him last July 18, 2016 due to complications of Agent Orange while in Vietnam. My husband was an avid runner before he went to Vietnam and lost his leg. His high school coach wanted him to go to The Olympics but he choose to defend our country." Lizzie and I will not only be running to represent the KPF and Ability Experience, but also to honor her father's memory. We greatly appreciate any donation you are able to give. All donations are 100% tax deductible! Please read below for more details on the KPF Foundation. We can't wait to run with the Marines! Stacy The purpose of the Kyle Pease Foundation (KPF) is to create awareness and raise funds to promote success for persons with disabilities by providing assistance to meet their individual needs through sports. Programs may include scholarship opportunities, purchasing of medical equipment or adaptive sports equipment for others or contributing to other organizations that provide similar assistance to disabled persons as well as participating in educational campaigns to create awareness about Cerebral Palsy and other disabilities. KPF will provide these services directly to individuals as well as to partner with other existing non-profit organizations to achieve these goals. Direct benefits will be limited to persons with disabilities who need adaptive sports equipment, mobility devices or medical care. You can learn more about the foundation and our race at Marine Corps here: http://www.kylepeasefoundation.org/new-events/2016/3/8/marine The Ability Experience is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The Ability Experience mission is, “Building leaders of tomorrow by serving people with disabilities today,” which has been fulfilled for more than 35 years. Although lives have been changed, AE's vision to “Change the way society views both people with disabilities and fraternities” remains unchanged. With your support, other individuals will get to participate in road races. Every dollar helps and is 100% tax-deductible!
