Lizzie's Competitive Sports Fund
Organized by: Tara DeIngenis
One of the best things about moving down South has been the sports opportunities benefiting my kids. My daughter Lizzie, went from playing about 12 games of rec ball a year to year-round competitive travel ball - 146 games in 2015 alone.
Her sportsmanship and skills have developed and continue to develop far beyond what I imagined, and the sport has helped her develop character, confidence, friends, integrity...the list goes on and on.
She's so talented, we hope that she will continue to work hard and hopefully receive a scholarship to help offset college tuition when she graduates high school.
Anyone who has played travel ball or who has kids who play(ed), knows of the great expense (hundreds of dollars a year). The first of two payment installments is coming up, and does not include things like her own gear (cleats/ clothing) or equipment - a good bat alone is at least $200.
Even though her father is a coach, it is a 110% volunteer-only position. He and the other coaches make time to work with these girls. They do not receive any payment or discounts off fees for their own player daughters.
If anyone wants to make a donation, we would greatly appreciate it. It will help a very talented young woman continue to grow in a sport she absolutely loves.
Also, please send me YOUR address, so Lizzie can send you a thank-you card the old fashioned way. Thanks!
