BENEFITING: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
ORGANIZER: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Supporting a charity such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is near and dear to my heart, especially if I raise enough to participate in the Disney Princess Half Marathon for it. One of my life-long best friends was diagnosed with Leukemia when she was 13, then again at 19, and for the last time at 22. If there was anyone that displayed the characteristics of a princess, it was Ash she was caring, compassionate, loving, energetic, hard working, and nice. She was amazing. And she was a fighter. Gosh, was she ever a fighter , she beat all odds over and over again, and let know one stand in her way. On Thanksgiving of 2012, Ash went to be with her loving God after having Graft vs. Host virus following a successful bone marrow transplant. I miss my friend everyday and I don't go a day without thinking about where she would be now. She left us too early, but I know she's still here, spiritually. I chose this charity to help find a cure for Leukemia so families and friends won't have to experience the battles Ashley had to face and the hurt her families and friends face on a daily basis with her being gone.
