BENEFITING: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
ORGANIZER: LLS Pittsburgh
EVENT: Pittsburgh Marathon 2017
EVENT DATE: May 07, 2017
This year I am running the Pittsburgh, PA marathon in honor of my dad, John Stephens. My dad was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) in 1991. He suffered with this disease for six years. Although he suffered greatly, I never heard him complain one time. He was always focused on encouraging those around him to find the bright side of life. Sadly, he lost his battle with CLL on August 9, 1997.
He is greatly missed by all those who loved him dearly. He would have been thrilled to not only see his daughter run in previous Pittsburgh marathons, but to also watch his grandsons perform for the main stage during the marathon of 2016. He would have been crazy about "his boys" and their music. One day they will get to meet him in heaven.
Please consider donating to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to assist in further research and hopefully one day finding a cure!!
