BENEFITING: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
ORGANIZER: LLS Pittsburgh
EVENT: Pittsburgh Marathon 2017
EVENT DATE: May 07, 2017
Hello friends and family! In 2016, my father - a husband, a brother, a son, an uncle, and a best friend to many - was diagnosed with a form of leukemia. He has had an extremely large number of complications along the way, he has had a dozen hospital trips in the last 6 months, and has continued to fight like hell. The picture above is at the Light the Night Walk in October 2016.
I literally wish that what my dad and what my family has gone through, never happens to anyone ever again.
Every year I run the half marathon and I do it to raise money for a cause near and dear to my heart. As I sit in the hospital next to my dad today - who 8 months ago was golfing and looking forward to retiring in Florida - and is now and being the toughest fighter I know, I ask that you donate to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society to help prevent any more families from having to endure what my family and I have experienced.
In a world with so much focus on how people are different than one another, remember cancer doesn't discriminate. This impacts EVERYONE, regardless of skin color, religion, place of birth, or political party. (Although if you know Big PJ at all you know his political stance
