BENEFITING: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
ORGANIZER: LLS Pittsburgh
EVENT: Pittsburgh Marathon 2016
EVENT DATE: May 01, 2016
This is my first time running the Pittsburgh Marathon, and only my second half! This race is very special to me because I'm running to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) of Pittsburgh. My goal is to raise $500!
I chose this organization in memory of my Aunt Sandy, who fought a long, and courageous battle against Multiple Myeloma. Sandy was so full of life, love and happiness, and was an inspiration for us all. She is my reason to run!
The LLS is the largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding research, finding cures and ensuring access to treatments for blood cancer patients. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.
