BENEFITING: WAVES FOR DEVELOPMENT
Hi! My name is Anson Tou, and I am about to finish my undergraduate degree at Florida International University in Miami. A couple of years ago, I decided that the first thing I would do after graduating was to join a volunteering program in my country: Perú. If you are reading this, you are already part of my commitment, and I will appreciate it all my life. When I was a child and lived in Lima, Perú, I played and interacted with kids that had to work on the streets to earn a living and support their families at home (Some of them had a sick relative and others had to work because their parents did not earn enough money to bring food to their tables). I thought that life was very unfair to them, as I could go to school and have something to eat everyday in contrast to them. Now that I am 22 years old, I will be joining a volunteering program called “Entrepreneurship Empowerment” for one month in Lobitos, in the northern coast of Perú in January 2013. In order to do it, I need to fundraise a certain amount of money to donate it to their non-for-profit organization, where I will be helping kids and families in the area to develop their own small businesses and progress together in life. I might not have all the experience or knowledge, but I am certain that I have the willingness to help and do everything I can to make these kids happy for the time I will be there. If you can to donate some money, it will be welcomed.
In case you live in Perú and want to contribute, I have a savings account in Scotiabank Perú under my name: Anson Tou. The account number is 205-0034843. For more information, e-mail email@example.com
