Lobo's Haven for Creative Fun
Organized by: Dennis Brock
The arts are being dismissed in schools facing budget cuts and loss of federal funding. My dream is to establish a place where kids and adults can join together for creative projects that stimulate the mind and stir the imagination. I am a quilter and a painter and would enjoy teaching classes for creative people, something I have done in the past. There will also be room for others to teach their specialties, to share their knowledge with others, and to encourage children and adults who feel a creative urge but have no place to explore the possibilities. This could be a place for home schooled children to explore the arts, for children who have no arts programs in their schools, for adults who have creative skills and for those who want to pursue their creative possibilities. I have been involved in such classes before and, as I near retirement, I would like to creative a safe and joyful place for artists of all levels to gather and share and grow.
Money raised will be used to secure a location. I already have some people interested in teaching and a good inventory of supplies for the start up.
Anyone who contributes $25 or more will receive an 8 inch by 10 inch crazy quilt square that has been matted and mounted. This will not be framed but will fit in an 11 by 14 inch frame that is a standard size that is readily available in many store.
