BENEFITING: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
EVENT: Tough Mudder Long Island
EVENT DATE: Aug 16, 2015
In December of 2011 Patrick Landers, a loving husband, a proud father of two young boys, and a dear friend to many passed away after a year-long battle with lymphoma. Patrick was so generous with his friendship. His fun-loving nature, quirky sense of humor, and contagious laughter made everyone feel a special connection to him as if you were one of his closest friends. As long as I knew Patrick, he had an adventurous spirit and an incredible ability to convince me to join him on wild rides during our college careers and beyond. As soon as I made the slightest inclination that I would be up for one of his adventures, whether it was Mardi Gras in New Orleans or a trip to South America, Landers would seal the deal by saying "OK Craig, I got you locked in now" making it virtually impossible for me to back out no matter what.
This summer I will be running my third Tough Mudder in Old Bethpage, Long Island. Each time I run these types of races I think about how, if he were with us, Patrick would have me "locked" into participating in challenging mud runs and other adventures year after year. So I'm dedicating this race to Patrick, a friend who lived every moment of his life to the fullest. Please consider "locking" yourself in with a small donation for a big cause.
