BENEFITING: Lone Star Shih Tzu & Lhasa Apso Rescue
Every day, we are faced with making life and death decisions about homeless shih tzu and lhasa apsos. The young and healthy ones are typically adopted immediately from the shelters, but the injured and older ones are typically left behind.
Our volunteers typically spend upwards of 50,000 hours each and every year saving these dogs.
For over 17 years, our focus has been on rescuing those that others will leave behind - the injured, ill and seniors.
But, to do that, we need much more funding than is needed for normal, quickly adoptable dogs. Our seniors suffer from mange, bladderstones, kidney issues, liver issues, massive ear infections and, often, punctured eyes. These costs add up. Our annual budget is $350,000.
These are the dogs our donations from this initiative will benefit.
