Tommy and Krissy Leonard are on team LLF, running the 2016 Boston Marathon! They will be raising funds for the Looney Legacy Foundation, in support of Melanoma research.
We are honored to be running the 2016 Boston Marathon with John Hancock for the Looney Legacy Foundation. We have been running together since we met in 2005 when we tackled our first half marathon. We have completed many half marathons and are excited to complete our first full marathon together. Being able to run for a great cause and raise money for Melanoma Research has given us a lot of motivation to complete this challenge. Thank you for supporting our efforts and contributing to the fight against melanoma.
The Looney Legacy Foundation was founded in the memory of Peter Looney, who passed away in December 2011 following a four month battle with Melanoma. Peter was diagnosed with stage four Melanoma in late August 2011. Throughout his diagnosis and treatment, Peter wanted to ensure that his experience would, somehow, contribute to the advancement of research, and eventual cure, for this deadly form of cancer. His family formed this foundation to keep Peter’s wishes alive, and to do everything possible to help find a cure, and promote the prevention of Melanoma.
