Friends and Family~
We thank you all for being so generous with your time and celebrating with us. We are blessed in so many ways! In lieu of gifts, we hope that you can help us help others. Below are three charities that are near and dear to us for so many reasons:
Make-A-Wish Foundation: It takes approximately $7500 to make a child's dream come true through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Donations help to enrich the lives of children suffering from life threatening illnesses.
ASPCA: For the animal lovers in the crowd, the ASPCA is a charity that we love and support. The ASPCA works to rescue animals from abuse, pass humane laws and share resources with shelters nationwide.
The Stephen Siller Tunnel-to-Towers Foundation: Firefighter Stephen Siller of Company 1 in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, died a hero on September 11th. On the way to meet up with his company at the World Trade Center, he threw on 60 pounds of gear and ran the length of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel on foot because it was closed to traffic. Each year his run through the tunnel in full gear is commemorated by the city. Michael was living in Carroll Gardens at the time of the attack. Forty of 42 firefighters from Company 1 died trying to save others on September 11th. It devastated the community. Please read Stephen's touching story and see how his memory lives on through the Foundation's work.
