THE STORY:

Lori’s journey through CANcer Hi, I am Kurt Kroothoep, Lori’s husband. Lori and I have been married for 25 years. She is a mother of 4 super kids, Logan (15), Ryan (13), Jack (9) and Megan (8) along with 2 cats Bella and Safari. In January, Lori had an ultrasound which verified a lump in her left breast and two “nodules” under the arm that were “highly suspicious with irregular edges”, words they use to describe a malignancy before the biopsy. Since then she have been meeting with Dr's and getting intimate with Miss Google. She is doing everything within her means to strengthen her body for this challenge. She has made and continues to make amazing changes in her life to get her body, mind and spirit into alignment. Many of these steps are medically documented to help support not only the immune system (slow, stop or reverse the growth of malignant cells) and the endocrine system (secrete healthy hormones) but many more. In February, I made the decision to leave my job and return home from Boston to be with the family and take over the day-to-day life stuff of a mom with three children. I have a job in retail and I work occasional contract work but sacrifice more and more time at home so I can take care of the family, yet it is never enough. In May, Lori went to the Hoxsey Clinic Bio-medical Center for Alternative Cancer Treatment ( www.hoxseybiomedical.com) in Mexico where she underwent an extensive laboratory analysis (including urine and blood samples, X-rays, a physical and ultrasound). An accurate diagnosis was established and the doctors outlined a special program for Lori that works to strengthen the impaired immune system and shed malignant cells. By rebalancing and normalizing her metabolism, the treatments at Bio-Medical Center will give her body a chance to heal itself without resorting to more toxic debilitating treatments. Living with the financial burden of trying to make ends meet brings daily stress and eliminating stress has become the biggest priority/challenge for Lori as she works to become healthy again. She really needs to take a leave of absence from work and spend more of her time healing… resting, reading, exercising, meal planning, meditating and sleeping. Her days are already filled with reading and researching things she can do on her own in addition to protocols set by her team of Dr’s. She spends countless hours shopping and prepping for daily juices, salads, soups and smoothies as most of her diet is organic and raw. She learned about Transcendental Meditation and increased her daily meditation to twice a day for 25-30 minutes. Although Lori does get out occasionally to exercise, she still needs to find the time to walk at least 30-60 minutes a day to raise serotonin levels. We have drained every penny from our savings. Even though the last thing we wanted to do is to ask for money from our family and friends, our backs are to the wall and it is what we must do. 100% of donations will be used for treatment and expenses (medical and household). We are trying to raise the funding as quickly as possible. With your help I can spend more time at home caring for the kids and helping Lori find answers, find rest, make healthful food and whatever else she needs to heal. Although we do have good health insurance, meeting co-pays and deductibles are adding up in addition to things not covered by insurance. Having funds as soon as possible allows us to toss aside this blanket of stress and fear of how to make ends meet. Those who know Lori all agree that she is an exceptional person who always puts her family and friends first. She is someone who has a positive outlook and accepts life as a gift, even with this diagnosis. We thought when I got sick a couple of years go that the worst challenges we would face were behind us. Little did we know that our family would be facing yet another serious medical crisis. Words fail to express our deep gratitude for anything you might be able to give, and we are humbled by the overwhelming love & support of our family and friends. We can’t thank everyone enough for your help and will be forever indebted to you. Thank you for being with us on this journey, we appreciate all of you. Please feel free to share this with as many people as you wish. With sincerest gratitude, The Kroothoep Family
