THE STORY:

We use our love of video games, science fiction, pop culture, and anything considered “nerdy” to discuss larger issues like ethical imperative, the educational position of the gaming industry, stereotyping, and ethnic representation.

Across the country, LORT is having a positive impact on the gaming communities, engaging the next generation of leaders by inspiring, motivating, and designing social change. One of our goals is to provide scholarships in promotion of the employment fields of (STEM) Science, Technology ,Engineering and Mathematics using our love for all things Geek,Nerd and Technology Based within our entertainment media concept. LORT is creating positive change in our communities, and indeed the world.

We bring together gaming studio's ,technology based companies, comic book studio's and the community. With the help of educators to promote the understanding that (STEM) Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics jobs that play a key role in the growth and stability of the U.S. economy, and are critical components to our video game and technology industries. In short we want to inspire students today to become STEM Students.

We are accept applications from educators around the country for grades 6-10. Through working with fans, development studios, and tech companies, students will be given the opportunity to learn the "ins and outs" of the gaming industry (either through field trips or having someone visit their classroom). It is our hope that by meeting with the men and women who work in this field, that it will create a spark for the youth of today to consider a career in gaming/STEM based job.
