I am particularly passionate about this topic because my son, Norbert, was stillborn. I expereinced postpartum anxiety after both of my subsequent children were born and was not screened or treated.
Loss is one of the risk factors for developing a MMH disorder, and I am dedicated to helping moms find healing and changing the system to better serve all moms.
I also am an occupational therapist, and know that moms with babies in the NICU or have babies with health problems or disabilites are also at a higher risk at devleopng a MMH disorder
Maternal Mental Health disorders affect 1 in 5 women. Postpartum depression is the most common complication of childbirth. Despite the prevalence, maternal depression goes largely undiagnosed and untreated.
This fundraiser raises awareness for maternal mental health disorders, which include depression, multiple forms of anxiety and the more rare postpartum psychosis. Please join us in walking together and help us reach our goal!
