15% Raised of $10,000 Goal
LAYN's mission is to empower abused, neglected and homeless adolescents to become self-sufficient. We do this by providing emergency shelter, food, transitional living apartments, and educational enrichment programs in a nurturing and safe environment.
Founded in 1984, The Los Angeles Youth Network is a California non-profit organization. Unfortunately, thousands of youth sleep on the streets each year in our own community. In fact, it is estimated that nearly 10,000 youth under the age of 24 end up homeless each year in Los Angeles County. Thousands more are neglected by overburdened and overwrought public systems. These kids haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy a childhood. They have experienced severe traumas over long periods of time. Once they turn to the streets, they enter into a constant state of survival mode, trying to make it work from one minute to the next. Their lives, in a word, are chaos.
