Lost Worlds Racing - producing some of the world’s most extraordinary off-road footraces.
Lost Worlds Trail Series is a set of non-stop 100k and 50k foot races taking you to the world’s most inspiring World Heritage sites while running trail in places of matchless and enduring beauty.
These are not just remote race venues. Our international destination ultras are special and our routes offer a great excuse to visit areas so unique that they’ve been singled out by the United Nations and designated as World Heritage sites. This prestigious title has only been given to a select group of locations across the world. Many of these places are widely known for their otherworldly beauty and mystery but the rugged and scenic trail selected by our experienced race staff is going to be the main feature of each event.
The first race in the series was the Causeway Crossing taking participants on a coastal trail along Ireland’s famous and awe-inspiring Antrim coast.
Races scheduled for 2012-2014 include Ireland, Nicaragua, Belize, Italy and Sweden. Plans are underway for Germany and Costa Rica and Dominica.
Not everyone who attempts our 100k will finish but they will all remember the place and the effort. The races will offer a variety of terrains, environments and adventure for individuals and teams that have come to run the route or fast pack it and take in the views:
Each race is a qualifier for a final 100 mile race set in one of the most spectacular locations in the world. This location will be announced in late 2012.
Our races are about exploration, adventure, camaraderie and friendship, since you're likely spending at least 2-3 days with fellow international travelers and staff attending each race.
The Lost Worlds Trail Series allows people an additional excuse to visit these areas in the context of a challenging race competition but to also take time to take in these areas before or after the race at a more leisurely pace. These are World Heritage sites for a reason.
You'll feel both expansive and small at times in their presence yet you'll also feel connected by an arc in time that stretches back centuries.
Embrace bold. Make plans not excuses. Runners doing good things.
