EVENT: LIGHTS ON THE LAWN 2016
EVENT DATE: Oct 07, 2016
BENEFITING: The Mary Parrish Center and MPC Transitional (therapeutic) Housing Program
UPDATE: We still have a fundraising goal of $45,000, but we're aiming for $15,000 to come from ticket and shirt sales! Go get your tickets and shirts today!
THE STORY: On October 7th, 2016, the Vanderbilt and Greater Nashville communities will come together to support The Mary Parrish Center, a vital Nashville organization.
Who we are: Lights on the Lawn is a group that has come together to do our part to move Vanderbilt forward in a positive way against sexual violence as a group seeking to engage the larger Vanderbilt and Nashville communities as a force for good. Oh, and we are counting on you to join us.
Who we support: Lights on the Lawn supports the Mary Parrish Center, an all encompassing transitional living and therapeutic housing program for women and families who are victims of domestic and sexual violence. The work they do on a daily basis to rebuild lives is nothing short of incredible. Walking into the Mary Parrish Center is like walking into a giant hug. Let’s bring this hug to Vanderbilt.
Our Goal: Last year, Lights on the Lawn raised over $45,000 for the MPC. We are excited to share that this funding is allowing them to purchase their property, which is a major milestone achieved for any non-profit! This year’s fundraiser will allow them to pay for regular maintenance costs and renovations that come with this new ownership. Your help assures that they can continue to provide safe, cost-free housing and all of their life saving holistic services to the women and children who call The Mary Parrish Center home. The impact that this gift will have on the Mary Parrish Center and the families who call it their home is absolutely huge.
What we will do: We will celebrate the women and children of the Mary Parrish Center and our school for the week leading up to our main event: our annual concert on Alumni Lawn to be held on October 7th.
